Episode 1 of Frosty's interview with Allan Moffat and Colin Bond

If you missed Frosty's full length exclusive interview with Allan Moffat and Colin Bond in yesterday’s Bathurst 1000 Telecast, then here is Episode 1 of a three part “Directors Cut” version of the interview, that describes the moment when Allan discovered he had no back breaks and 10 laps still to go!!

Cellarbrating the 40th Anniversary of the Form 1-2 Victory at Bathurst 1000

The Bottle-O Racing Team and our driver Frosty were proud pay tribute to Allan Moffat and his famous 1977 Ford 1-2 Victory at this weekend’s Bathurst 1000, by unveiling a brand new one-off livery purely for the 2017 event, featuring the same colours as Moffat and Bond’s 1977 Ford XC Falcon on their modern day equivalent FG X Falcon Supercar. As part of the tribute, Winterbottom and Canto wore replica 1977 design race suits, whilst The Bottle-O Racing Crew also wore replica tribute suits - along with The Bottle-0 Grid Girls.

Bathurst 2017 was the 40th anniversary of Allan Moffat’s fourth-and-final win in The Great Race where he finished side-by-side with team-mate, former Bathurst winner and series champion Colin Bond.
Over the years, the victory has become infamous because Bond elected not to pass the ailing Falcon of team owner Moffat in the closing laps – even though the lead driver Moffat was nursing his car home due to a lack of rear brakes.

Mark Winterbottom, winner at Bathurst in 2013 – the first for a factory Ford driver since the 1977 race – says “Allan Moffat was one of my heroes growing up, and still is, so I felt very honoured to be racing in the livery he made so famous 40 years ago. It was great to have Allan and Colin trackside to watch the race this year and a big thanks to The Bottle-O team for making all of this happen.

Another key part of this year’s tribute was an exclusive intimate interview with Moffat and Bond which aired during the Bathurst 1000 Telecast on Fox Sports and Network TEN. In a tribute hosted by Winterbottom, the former team-mates reflected on the race, the significance of the result, what it meant at the time and what it means 40 years later. It’s the inside story to one of Motorsport's most intriguing wins – and something not to be missed!

At The Bottle-O Racing Team we are proud to have been involved in Supercars for 11 seasons and we’re sure the Bathurst 1000 will keep delivering more surprises for motoring fans to talk about well into the future.
